Fare Thee Well: June 22, 2017
On this day we honor the children and familes who are leaving us for their next big adventure. The following children are heading off to kindergarten: Andrew Lamoreaux, Felix Rubinchuk, Finch Hellenbach, Gael Vogel, Johanna Philip, Ruby Cole, Seamus O'Neill, Thomas Lavin and Wynne McConnell. Lincoln Irwin is heading off to a new school.
We send them off with love and light.

Fare Thee Well: June 21, 2013
On this day we honor the children and families who are leaving us for their next big adventure. This year Cal and his family built a new house and the following children are heading off to Kindergarten in the Fall: Nolan Beckert, Jack Tomlinson, Katharine Sumner, Annie Harte, Anya Carr, Jesse Fitzgerald, Cora Lea, Eamon Brown, Zinn Cline Lucey, Sophia Dengler, August Bauer, and Tess Ewoldsen and Innis Sullivan.
As summer solstice approaches, teachers prepare 'kindergarten letters' speaking to the unique strengths and competencies of each child. The children make their crowns with take-apart materials to wear at the ceremony and advise Siobhan on how the fairy pins are made (a symbol of the magic of all that is Stepping Stones). Holly lovingly makes the yearbooks and the children add their special touch to the cover. This year she asked families to write letters to their children. During this time of preparing we remember stories of growing, learning and being together.
The right of passage arrives. We gather in the late afternoon forming an archway for the Fare-Thee-Wellers to travel so that the whole family can feel our community surrounding them as they walk on. We sing "Simple Gifts". Teachers share poignant stories of each child. The crystal bowl of water mirrors each child's gaze as we raise our arms upwards and outwards in "love and light" for the child. There is a celebration of applauds mixed with tears, laughter, and hugs.
We potluck at Oakledge Park enjoying the summer air, good company and CAKE! With special effort, Mark Cline-Lucey carves out each child's name written in frosting. A deliciously good time was had by all. Enjoy this memory in photos ~Liz

On this day we honor the children and families who are leaving us for their next big adventure. This year Winslow and his family are moving to a new home and school. Sam, Margot, Amelia, Owen, Trudy, Phinn and Ruby are heading to Kindergarten.
As summer solstice approaches, teachers prepare 'kindergarten letters' speaking to the unique strengths and competencies of each child. The children make their crowns with take-apart materials to wear at the ceremony and decorate special tin boxes where a fairy will reside (a symbol of the magic of all that is Stepping Stones). A teacher (Holly) makes the yearbooks and the children add their special touch to the cover. During this time of preparing we remember stories of growing, learning and being together.
