January 2012 Nora and Nathalie wanted to play astronaut, but Nat had some trouble getting her backpack on. (For some reason, backpacks have been deemed essential for astronaut play here.) Luckily, Nora was able to help. I love this because it shows that Nora can see how to get inot a backpack from the helper's perspective, which is a nice advanced concept for such a young child. And Nathalie is able to accept assisstance from a peer when she needs it, which is a great illustration of why the multi-age concept works so well in schools.

Sophia was such an excellent helper in the kitchen today! Keldon brought in fresh eggs for our quiche, and Sophia basically made the entire lunch herself. I chopped, she mixed, and she filled the pie shells so carefully. I popped them in the oven, and we all said a big thank you to both Keldon and Sophia as we ate our yummy lunch. Thanks again, you two!
